BOGOTA, June 1 (Xinhua) -- Bayern Munich winger Luis Diaz scored one goal and set up another as Colombia stepped up its preparations for the FIFA World Cup with a 3-1 friendly win over Costa Rica on Monday.
Davinson Sanchez opened the scoring at El Campin in Bogota by heading in from Diaz's corner.
Diaz doubled the lead shortly after, combining with Jorge Carrascal following a defensive error to slot home from 10 yards.
The visitors pulled a goal back just after the half hour when Andrey Soto nodded in after Josimar Alcocer's headed pass.
Sporting Lisbon striker Luis Suarez restored the hosts' two-goal lead 10 minutes from time, running onto James Rodriguez's long pass and rifling a shot into the far corner.
"This was a good test, even though we didn't have the full group with us until yesterday," Colombia manager Nestor Lorenzo told reporters.
"We have a lot of things to improve, but as the days go by, by spending time together and getting all of the players physically up to speed, I am confident that we will be in very good shape for the World Cup."
Colombia will play its final warmup match against Jordan in San Diego on June 7.
The World Cup will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19.
Colombia will begin its campaign against Uzbekistan in Mexico City on June 17 before facing the Democratic Republic of Congo and Portugal in the group stage. Costa Rica failed to qualify for the tournament.
